Hi Reader, This is a letter about love and meditation — and how a small shift can create a big difference. I’ll share a personal story, a reflection, and a simple practice you can try. It’s easy to think that we connect more by going out, by trying to reach others. When, in fact, to have deeper connection with others, we need a deeper connection with ourselves. Everything starts with you. Many have said: “Change starts from within.” And it’s true. When we love ourselves, when we accept ourselves - only then can we truly love and accept others. This is the point of Meditation, of Zen, of Taoism - to learn to live from your center. That connection to your own center, to the source aligns you to your presence, your clarity and inner truth. Insights can happen in an instant. But integration takes time. The more we get used to going to the center — and being there... the more easily accessible we make it. It can become a knack. Then, no distance, no effort - just a tiny shift of focus. This is what I want to share with the world - what I want for you. So that you can create a life you love - in joy, in peace, in freedom, in truth. And this is what I love about being a guide - being able to help people like you realize how you truly want to live, and make that happen, from within. Just like a tiny shift of attention can make a huge difference. What’s really in the way of self-love? Let’s take a closer look at self-love — and how to actually practice it. Perhaps a more important point, or question, is "what is in the way of experiencing self-love?" You can ask this question often — in stillness or through journaling — and notice what arises. Many times it's some kind of self-rejection. We have learned in many ways to reject ourselves, to feel bad about ourselves. And this “feeling bad” isn’t necessarily bad. It can help show us where we have wronged another, or where we have gone against our own truth. This is from my own experience. I had an insight when I realized I hadn’t been fully truthful with my girlfriend. I wasn’t trying to deceive her — but I was unconscious, acting from protection. I kept feeling bad for quite a while — carrying the regret of what I had done... And I was sad that I had hurt her. And this is where I unconsciously made this past action into a kind of self-punishment, or a self-rejection. I had stopped giving myself love. I had some good cries - and I could finally see it, what I was doing to myself. How the Self-love was blocked by this "feeling bad", which I now could see was a kind of a rejection to my own love, a punishment for what I had done, for having hurt someone I cared about. I knew I needed self-love to reconnect with my center... so I asked myself; "How can I practice Self-love?" And the answer came; "Just enjoy your own being. Enjoy the moment." It's so simple. Simply by giving this loving attention of enjoying my own being - and the connection is open! The Self-love connection is again established. Just a simple yes to myself. And I must say, I find this 'enjoying' to be such a beautiful thing. It contains presence and love. With all that said, I'm gonna wrap this up. Thank you for reading this far. Remember, say "yes" to yourself! That small yes to yourself… it’s everything. I’d love to invite you to a free meditation mini-workshop I’m offering on April 24th. → [Read more here] P.S. Dear friend, “If you don’t remember the source, you stumble in confusion and sorrow. But when you realize where you come from, you naturally become tolerant, disinterested, amused, kind-hearted as a grandmother, dignified as a king. Immersed in the wonder of the Tao, you can deal with whatever life brings you. And even when death comes, you are at ease.” — Lao Tzu There’s a deep intelligence inside each of us — a presence that is clear, kind, and effortlessly creative. But in the speed and...
What Makes Your Heart Sing? I’m writing from a café in Da Nang, Vietnam—Roots Café—as I try a new, healthier alternative to coffee: Reishi latte with oat milk. This feels like a good choice since I need more Yin energy for balance. Yin represents stability, rest, rejuvenation, and the feminine. And right now, I’m embracing a slower pace—no longer rushing things. The Search for My Career Path For many years I have been asking myself; "what do I want?", "what makes my heart sing?". Studying...
Freedom is yours to claim No one else can do it for you. Freedom comes with Awareness. If there is no awareness, there is no choice. And no response-ability. "Forgive them father, for they don't know what they are doing" - Yeshua/Jesus Unconsciously you just react to life - you're a product of society. Conditioned and crippled by fear. With consciousness, you have the ability and freedom to respond. You have access to your higher intelligence. Consciousness itself cannot do anything that is...
